To avoid problems with IO timeouts with VMs, the timeout for IO operations of the operating system must be adjusted.
WINDOWS:
Hier ist die Registry um die notwendigen Timeouts zu ergänzen. Simply download and execute the file windows_gos_timeout.reg. The changes will only become active after a restart of the VM.
LINUX:
On Linux the timeouts can be changed using udev. Create a new rule 99-vmware-scsi-udev.rules in /etc/udev/rules.d/ and activate it with udevcontrol reload_rules.
