I would like to change my last name. How do I do that?

When you apply for an RPTU account, your first or last name will be permanently entered into our systems and the list of selectable e-mail aliases will be generated from it. If your name has changed, e.g. due to marriage, we can change it.

Please note:
If you only want to adjust your display name, because e.g. a middle name should not be displayed, you can adjust this yourself via the service portal.

For students:
Please report the change to the student office at the respective location. As soon as the RHRZ is informed, we will automatically change your name in our systems and re-enable the option to select an email alias.

For employees:
To do so, please send us a request - after notifying Human Resources of the change - to rz-support@rptu.de with the following information:

  • New first and last name
  • RPTU account
  • Proof of name change (if you are not employed at RPTU)

Once the change is made, you will be able to select a new email alias in Account Management.
