I would like to customize my displayed name. How do I do that?

Your RHRK account includes a so-called display name, which is automatically displayed along with your e-mail address. This name contains your first and last name.
The display name can be changed in the service portal. You can, for example, remove your middle name.

You may have to establish a VPN connection if you are not logged into the campus network.

In the menu Active Directory Attributes in the service portal you can adjust a selection of the available information yourself.

Please follow the instructions for changing your AD attributes:
  • Only attributes that are marked for modification will be changed (checkbox "Modify" must be activated).
  • To delete attributes, clear the "New value" field and mark the attribute for modification.
  • The default values are only useful for members of the TU Kaiserslautern.
  • The last name and first name cannot be changed by yourself. To change them, write to hotline@rhrk.uni-kl.de.
  • The email address and the department property of Exchange mailbox owners cannot be changed in AD by yourself. Please contact our hotline.
  • The display name is used as the sender name for Exchange e-mails.
  • ATTENTION: You can neither create a new e-mail address for your mail system nor change an existing e-mail address for your mail system. You can compare the entry of the e-mail address in the ActiveDirectory with the entry of the e-mail address in an address book.
  • The e-mail address is used, for example, by SharePoint for sending system e-mails and is displayed on your SharePoint MySite.
  • If you enter an invalid email address you will not be able to receive SharePoint system emails anymore. Other services may also be affected.
  • To change the manager attribute (supervisor), a valid RHRK account name of the supervisor must be entered.
  • It may take up to 24 hours for SharePoint and 72 hours for Exchange Address List for the data changes to be available in the target systems.
